Hi

I just joined this forum, and this website is great. And the Calyx software system is really amazing.

I'm a relatively newbie to the business.

My question is this:

I just recently installed Calyx Point on my computer, and am wondering whether to utilize the auto-naming feature on the software, or to create my own file names.

Does anyone have any recommendations?
What are the pros and cons?

Thank you,

Larry

If you close between 5 and 10 loans a month maybe the auto filenaming is not needed. But auto filenaming is great if you want your loans to follow a consistent naming format by year, month or day, and not have to worry about what your next number would be.  I also recommend to setup different data folders by year, so you have a "Opened 2006" and a "Closed 2006" and "Cancelled 2006", etc...think about how you want to organize your loans and what will be easiest for you to access information at some later point.

To be very blunt, I wouldn't dream of not using the auto file naming.
