| | I am running PDS 5.1 with Point 5.2 and have run into a situation with the folder security and dropdown lists. I have implemented security on some of my folders that allow Representatives access to only their files. My issue is that several of our folks have gotten married and have had subsequent name changes. If I change their name in the dropdown and/or PDS, they will no longer have access to the files that they previously created. Is there anything I can do to change the rep name without having to open each file individually? |

| | Unfortunately this is the way conventional Point handles the access rights for a specific user. You either give full access rights or you have to change the name in every BRW/PRS file. It has nothing to do with PDS: the same problem occurs if you attempt to change a name for someone that uses conventional data folders. Moving this thread to the "Calyx Point » Suggestions & Requests" forum so the Point team can consider implementing a solution for this in the future.

| | It is tricky. I get errors saying: "PointData/Borrower/IDX Cannot be found." "Unable to update index file. Try to Rebuild List." I rebuilt my list - all of them. Which takes forever, and it still didn't work. There has got to be an easier way!

| | In that post, an easier way was given: Mike's search and replace tool. I haven't used it myself yet, but am thinking it would be a great solution to my current problem of all the LO and processor names are hard coded as ALL CAPS, which make for awful custom letters. |
