| | Last Friday we pushed out the 5.2 upgrade to all of our users and now I am getting calls from several users saying that when they open the cardex, Point gives them and error and closes.. Has anyone else been experiencing this. The cardex, along with the rest of the PNTTEMPL folder is on the network. |

| | Yes it was an upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2. I am contacting some of the users that this has been affecting to try to find out exactly what the error is. |

| | They are all XP Pro SP2. I checked the compatibility and it's turned off. If I do a re-install it seems to fix the problem until the user reboots the computer then it goes back to crashing. |

| That is an interesting fact. There really is nothing that setup for cardex, except the cardexlib.dll is copied to the winpoint directory. Maybe some thing is replacing this with an older version? if you right click on the winpoint/cardexlib.dll and click properties and check the version tab you should have file version: 5.2.2005.524. The only other thing i can think of is an older version of mdac is being loaded when you reboot the computer. cardex can run on mdac 7 or 8.

| | I forgot to post this earlier thanking you for the help. I forgot that we had added to our logon script a line that copied the fixed cardex dll file for the slow issue in 5.1. So all of my 5.2 users were trying to run the 5.1 version. I replaced the 5.1 dll with the 5.2 dll so that would copy to all users who recieved the 5.1 fixed dll. Now everything works fine. Long winded response I know, but thanks for your help. |

| | I was having trouble with cardex opening slow in 5.2. I followed your instructions and it seems to be working better now, though my mdac appears to be an earlier version and I do not know how to get 7 or 8. |
