I've got existing flat file folders that have all settings/dropdowns/processors/etc configured.  My 10 new PDS folders don't contain any data in these defaults/dropdowns.

Before I could copy the INI files in the data directory and rename the folderName field.  I cannot however do this with my PDS files.

I can copy the field tags in the Folder.ini file, but the settings don't appear when I open the PDS folder.  How can I refresh my folder settings to load in the modified .ini files?

Point Administrator -> Copy Folder Settings don't list my PDS folders.

Point Administrator -> Copy Folder Settings don't list my PDS folders.

Hi Orion,

Here are the steps to copy folder settings:

1) Login to your PDS Admin site
2) On the left side, click "Data Folders", then "List Data Folders".
3) In your list of data folders, locate the data folder you want to copy settings to, and click "Edit"
4) Scroll down the page to the section "Copy Folder Settings"
5) In the "Copy Folder Settings" from dropdown, select the data folder to copy your settings from.  The page will refresh.
6) Now click "Copy"
7) Repeat the steps for each data folder you wish to copy settings to.

I hope this helps.

Ah Ha.  I have to scroll down (duh).  Thanks for your help.  I'm sure I'll have more questions a little later.

How can I modify the Folder.INI files and other .ini files in the datafolder directories and have it updated by PDS?  I don't want to manually enter this info.  I would much rather copy/paste the info into the INI files.

I believe the information can only be updated through Point because an update token is processed when Point saves changes to those files.  The update token is used to update only the changes from the INI file into a database table.

You only have to enter the information once for one data folder from the Utilities menu in Point, then use the Copy Folder Settings feature to copy the settings to all your folders.

How is entering the information in say, Notepad, then copying/pasting into the remaining data folders saving you time versus entering the information in the Utilities menu once then using Copy Folder Settings?
